Alvaro
was born to Spanish parents and since his childhood days
he is blessed
with a distinctive attraction for nature.
He first started exploring the outdoors with his older brother
and by the time he could drink beer (legally) he was already
guiding tours professionally.
He
is passionate about his job and a studious professional.
He acquired recognition as a Naturalist
Guide by the Panama Ministry of Tourism in 1994 and since
then his training in the arts of interpretation has earned
him high
ranks among his peers.
The
Darien, Bocas del Toro and Soberania and Chagres national
parks, in the Panama Canal Watershed,
are part of Alvaro’s realm. He will instantly catch your
attention with his talent to share interesting facts and his
knowledge about the natural wonders of Panama. He is working
on his bird list and he is a pirate history buff. Alvaro is
always ready to lend a hand to accomplish the simplest or most
complicated tasks.
He
started guiding as a freelance for Ancon Expeditions of Panama
in 1998 and in 2002 became a member of
its full time Naturalist Guides team.
