Christian is the most recent addition to the guide core of
the Ancon Expeditions of Panama. Born in the town of Chitre,
in central Panama, to a Panamanian mother and a French father,
this young naturalist is a perfect example of the cultural
mix that has characterized Panama during the last 500 years.
Diversity is not only found in the rainforests and coral reefs
of our country, but also in its people.
When he was a little boy, Christian spent his
vacations in Veraguas, the only province in Panama that has
access to both,
the Pacific Ocean and the Caribbean Sea. It was during this
early age explorations that he developed an affinity for conservation.
He participates in several wildlife conservation projects during
his free time and in the past held a variety interesting jobs,
including that of a professional scuba diver, where he monitored
the migration of Hammerhead sharks in Panamanian waters. More
recently, Christian managed the Bocas Inn, Ancon Expeditions’ lodge
in Bocas del Toro, from where he transitioned into a full time
naturalist.
His guiding skills, which he continuously refines with intensive
field training and studying natural history and literature
on nature interpretation, are an asset in addition to his well-mannered
temperament and affable attitude toward sharing his knowledge
about Panama with others. Today, Christian is prepared to take
nature enthusiasts on tours to all regions of the country,
including Bocas del Toro, Chiriqui, Darien, the Panama Canal
watershed and his beloved Veraguas.
